Please, Help!

I cannot stress how important this issue is.  Imagine any other “system” of the body failing. Then imagine it not being a basic coverage by insurance companies. It’s not right, it’s not fair, and it makes ZERO sense. Our reproductive systems sometimes fail. it is a fundamental function of the body, and sometimes it requires medical intervention. Not everyone needs to be tens of thousands of dollars in the hole for receiving NECESSARY help with reproductive system failure. I was fortunate enough to be able to afford the medical intervention, but many cannot. The financial toll also dictates when we “give up”.  We will not be doing more fresh IVF cycles because we simply cannot gamble away one child’s future for another. Some states have mandated infertility coverage. Unfortunately, I am not in one of them, and even if I was, my medical insurance is federal and thus exempt. Please help the thousands of families who have so much love to give but not enough financial means to give it to a child. This is a petition worth signing!

WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO:

Pass Legislation to cover infertility treatments under the Affordable Healthcare Act.

Currently many states do not cover or cover very minimally for infertility.

This is a problem for many couples wanting a family but need to have out pf pocket expenses to cover treatments. The affordable healthcare act should cover these expenses to give couples and individuals the opportunity to have children.

The cost for intrauterine insemination(IUI) costs a patient several thousand dollars for treatment.

In vitro Fertilization average cost is $12,000. This makes having families difficult for couples and individuals suffering from infertility.

Legislation needs to be passed to have health insurance cover costs.

If birth control and abortions are covered then infertility treatment should be too.
