I had success using a mini muffin tin right-side up. My son got a kick out of these. They would be great as an appetizer, kids’ lunch, or snacks. They were really easy. I’m sorry that I do not have a pic this time of what the pan looked like with the raw bacon before I placed it in the oven. Be sure to use a continuous piece of bacon to form the cup and not several pieces.
To make bacon bowls:
1/2 lb uncured bacon (not thick sliced)
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Cut the strips of bacon in half. With the strips of bacon, try to press the bacon around the edge while also against the bottom and a lip around the tip. I did not fill a whole tray, but you can do that if you’d like. Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes. Take a peek and see if they look crispy and cooked. The cook time will depend on the thickness of your bacon and whether you overlapped a lot.
Place the bacon cups on paper towel to soak up extra grease.
Fill the cups using a butter knife and filling of your choice. I used paleo egg salad and tuna salad.
Egg Salad Recipe:
- 1.5 Tbsp Paleo Mayo
- 1/2 tsp dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp fresh dill
- 2 hard-boiled eggs, peeled and diced
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Combine all ingredients.
