My little man was dying to make smoothies today. Usually, his grandpa makes the smoothies with some yogurt and orange juice along with the fruit. I wanted to see if I could do it without dairy. He ended up drinking the entire batch on his own, so I guess it was a success.
1 ripe banana
1 cup frozen blueberries
3/4 cup whole strawberries
3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (read labels!)
1/2 cup crushed ice
Blend everything together and give it a taste! Without the banana, it somehow just didn’t have much flavor. After adding the banana, it seemed that it brought out the other flavors.
My husband liked the batch that we made with no strawberries, but added 1 Tbsp raw organic honey. He said it tasted like a banana honey smoothie. He said that honey flavor was extremely strong, but he liked it.
