I got part of this recipe from PaleOMG.
1 lb grass fed ground beef
1 apple, diced
6 slices of uncured bacon, diced (found at Trader Joe’s)
1 medium red onion, diced
2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
2 Tbsp water
salt and pepper
Form the beef into four patties, and season with salt and pepper. Put a thumb print in the middle so that they don’t puff up. Set aside.
Cook the bacon until crisp, place the bacon on paper towels and set aside.
Leave 2 Tbsp bacon grease in the pan (store the rest in the refrigerator for future use). Cook the onions until translucent. Cover and cook the apples with the onions for 5 minutes. While the chutney is cooking, grill or cook your burgers in a pan until done to your liking. Add vinegar and water to the chutney, and cook until the moisture is absorbed, but dry. Season with salt to taste.
